At KINIKH

Responsible development begins with understanding the natural systems on which it depends.

Dr. Tyagi provides strategic guidance on biodiversity conservation, environmental planning, sustainability frameworks and ecological assessment across KINIKH.

His evidence-based perspective helps align long-term business growth with scientific understanding, natural-resource stewardship and environmental responsibility.

Research & Advisory

Scientific research grounded in Himalayan ecosystems.

01

A scientific foundation in Himalayan ecology

Dr. Tyagi earned his Ph.D. in Botany from Kumaun University, Nainital, where his doctoral research examined forest species composition and diversity in relation to ecosystem water status across altitudinal gradients in the Kumaun Himalaya.

He previously completed an M.Sc. in Botany with specialisation in Plant Taxonomy and dissertation work in Ecology, following a bachelor's degree in Zoology, Botany and Chemistry.

02

Research across Himalayan forest systems

As a Field Investigator with the Indian Statistical Institute, he contributed to studies examining the sustainability of local forests across Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.

He later served as Junior Research Fellow and Senior Research Fellow on a Department of Science & Technology sponsored project investigating biodiversity, ecosystem functioning and ecological productivity within the Central Himalaya.

03

Biodiversity documentation and conservation

As Project Fellow on a UCOST-funded initiative, Dr. Tyagi helped document the biological diversity of Uttarakhand and develop conservation strategies grounded in field evidence.

Together, these nationally funded assignments developed his understanding of forest sustainability, ecosystem functioning and the responsible management of natural resources.

04

Teaching, scholarship and field learning

Alongside research, Dr. Tyagi built an academic career as a lecturer in Biosciences and Environmental Science, teaching undergraduate students and contributing to practical field education and environmental awareness.

His scholarly work includes peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national and international conferences covering biodiversity, tropical ecology, conservation biology, ecological restoration and Himalayan ecosystems.

05

Independent scientific guidance for KINIKH

At KINIKH, Dr. Tyagi provides evidence-based guidance across biodiversity conservation, environmental sustainability, ecological assessments, natural resource management and research-backed decision making.

His expertise supports responsible planning across agriculture, rural livelihoods, fisheries, forestry, estate development and other sustainability-focused initiatives while he continues his independent professional work.
