Shantanu's work brings together economics, marketing, programme management and natural-resource management. Over more than fifteen years, he has applied that perspective to rural development, sustainable livelihoods, climate resilience and institutional partnerships.
The breadth of his experience allows him to consider development outcomes alongside market realities, organisational capability and long-term environmental responsibility.
His career includes work with GIZ — German Development Cooperation — NABARD-linked initiatives, IFAD-funded programmes, state livelihood projects and multiple non-government organisations.
These assignments have given him practical exposure to government-supported initiatives, international development organisations, civil society and the private sector.
His responsibilities have spanned project appraisal, programme implementation, entrepreneurship promotion, institutional capacity building, monitoring and evaluation, stakeholder engagement, communication and knowledge management.
This end-to-end experience supports a clear view of how initiatives move from early assessment and programme design to accountable delivery and measurable learning.
Shantanu has contributed to commercially viable and environmentally responsible livelihood models through value-chain studies, market assessments, enterprise development and climate-adaptation initiatives.
His work also includes public-private-community partnerships and institutional-strengthening programmes designed to connect producers, markets and support systems more effectively.
